Plus, each disc comes with an individual plastic case and label. I own an older Sony minidisc recorder (model MDS-JE520) and I was hoping these 80 minute discs worked OK with it. They do. That's good. I have not compared the performance of these Sony discs with ohter brands--like HHB-- but I can tell you that the Sony discs sound fine for my project archiving needs.
These discs are 80 minutes at a great price and allow for playing downloaded songs NOT paid for or authorized for burning, to be recorded via the disc-player/recorder [thru headphones out of computer to mic input of minidisc recorder] Sounds great, just pay close attention to volume settings on each playback. Of course this is all accomplished in real time, no accelerated option here.
I could not find this product in the stores anymore because of all the mp3 players out now; i would guess. I bought these from the recording store and they must not have had the regular discs and they sent me the gold ones. Better yet. I stocked up this time around.

I use these with my portable MD player which can record/transfer up to 6hrs of audio onto each minidisc. Memorex and other brands tend to be a bit less expensive, but I've found that the build quality of these Sony color minidiscs are better. The included carrying case is handy and is small enough to fit in a coat pocket. And since they only are few cents more per disc, why not spend a little more for the quality. The colors allow you to color-code your collection, but you probably would have to buy these minidiscs in bulk for it to be worthwhile. My only complaint is that you probably wouldn't want to cover up these pretty little discs with the mundane labels Sony includes. There's a frosted finish on the face of these minidiscs so that you could write on it with a fine marker, but since many of the discs are dark, they would be hard to read.
